Coffer Corporate Leisure has advised Corbin King Hotels on an agreement with Grosvenor to develop 8 Balderton Street in London’s Mayfair into a luxury, bespoke hotel, formerly occupied by Avis Car Hire.

Corbin and King are developing this Art Deco style building, designed by Wimperis & Simpson in 1926 and overlooking Brown Hart Gardens in the heart of Mayfair. The hotel will have 73 bedrooms & suites; public areas include a restaurant and lobby bar/salon; a private dining/meeting room and a small spa. The plans retain as much as possible of the existing building, including the principal elevations. A leading British artist has been commissioned to create a significant piece of public art.

The hotel is due to open in 2014.
