The Coffer Group Takes Leisure Gold at the EG Awards

The Coffer Group was hailed as one of the highest achievers in the property world last night at the annual EG Awards run by Estates Gazette magazine. At a glittering ceremony hosted by comedian Sean Lock, the Coffer Group was awarded ‘National Property Adviser of the Year – Leisure’ of 2012, and praised for ‘having been involved in every headline leisure deal in London in 2012’ and ‘the most active adviser in the country’ in leisure property.

Tracey Mills, Head of Development Leasing at Davis Coffer Lyons and Mark Sheehan, Managing Director at Coffer Corporate Leisure, collected the award in front of over 700 real estate professionals at the Hilton on Park Lane, after judges described The Coffer Group as “a breath of fresh air in a stagnant market” and “always looking for new concepts and solutions”. It is a company that “really sticks its neck out”, said one judge.

David Coffer, Chairman of the Coffer Group, said; “This award is the perfect accolade to mark our 40th anniversary this year, and a fitting end to what has been an exhilarating but demanding year for the firm. As we now look forward into 2013, we have ambitious expansion plans which involve our growing presence in leisure consultancy overseas, and the increasing appetite for leisure investment from landlords who are attracted by long leases and the higher-than-average yields achievable in the current market.”

Specific achievements praised by EG included the introduction of food truck phenomenon Pitt Cue Co to the Carnaby Street vicinity for Shaftesbury – ‘a milestone deal’ – as well as DCL’s work with Gatwick Airport and Westfield Stratford City. The judges also made reference to the Coffer Group as the only leisure adviser to offer a global strategies team bringing ‘countless operators, investors and developers to the UK’.
